muse dance academy

Specializing in providing classical ballet training, strength & conditioning, artistic development, and mentorship for BIPOC and low-income dancers 8+

Our Programs

    • Muse Dance Academy (MDA) was created out of Nico’s love for ballet and a deep desire to fill the gap in arts education by providing quality classical ballet training and mentorship to BIPOC and low-income students.

    • Muse Dance Academy focuses on 3 key pillars : Technical Mastery, Ballet Conditioning and Mentorship

      • technique : classical ballet training rooted in the Vaganova method

      • conditioning : strength and injury prevention through floor barre, pilates, and free weight conditioning techniques

      • mentorship : customized learning plans that promote artistic and personal development in a collaborative and supportive learning environment

    • By working with students 1:1, MDA offers a personalized approach to ballet that is often not available in larger class settings or accessible to dancers from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds. MDA prioritizes building a strong, trusting relationship with each student, taking the time to understand who they are both inside and outside of the studio.

    • During the consultation, we learn about their unique qualities, background in ballet (or dance), and their current goals or challenges. Together, we collaborate to create a comprehensive yet flexible plan tailored to help them achieve their personal aspirations. Whether a beginner or an advanced dancer, MDA is committed to helping students build a solid foundation—not only in ballet technique but also in their self-worth.

    • We value student-instructor relationships built on mutual trust, recognizing that when students feel safe, seen and supported, they are more open to guidance and growth.

  • Join us this summer! Students can expect to receive:

    • technique : classical ballet training rooted in the Vaganova method

    • mentorship : establish student-instructor relationships based on trust and respect that provide a personalized and supportive learning environment

    • personal development : enriching conversations that build self confidence, discipline, and equip students to excel in both their personal and professional lives

    • conditioning : improve strength and stability by targeting essential muscle groups, refining alignment, and enhancing movement quality

    • injury prevention: increase kinesthetic awareness and develop an understanding of ballet-specific pre- and post-care methods to maintain long term physical health
