ABOUT ME

Nico is passionate, with unshakable drive. She’s a Los Angeles native with dance roots in an array of styles inclusive of ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, and hip hop. She was first introduced to dance as a member of the Granada Hills Charter High School dance team. She trained with industry professionals Janina Garraway, Rob Rich, Sienna Lyons, Brandon Shaw (BShaw), Quinetta Shaw, Danni Rogers, and Dacia James. Nico learned resilience & patience in this rigorous and incredibly rewarding space.

In 2014, Nico started her ballet journey at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Valencia, CA. She received exceptional training and performed choreographic works by Julie Bour, Juel D. Lane, Glen Eddy, Andre Tyson, Nina Flagg, and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. It was here that she also developed her interests in multi-disciplinary work and dance pedagogy as she dived deeper into the creation of dance films, production and photographic collaborations. Finding a deep value in education, she became a dance lead for the CalArts’ summer program where she taught ballet and contemporary dance techniques. In addition, she provided college/career counseling and created a dance & writing-inspired course called Choreography of the Mind

After college, Nico chose to put her attention toward the refinement of her ballet technique. She began training with Natasha Middleton at Media City Dance in Burbank, CA. With the guidance of Natasha, and persistent instructors Ruben Tonoyan and Grigori Arakelyan, Nico grew exponentially. In 2022 Nico danced as an apprentice for Natasha’s company, Pacific Ballet Dance Theatre. She performed Firework, a crowd favorite duet with Allan McCormick and excerpts from Little Match Girl. During this time she also studied with Bodytraffic, A.I.M and choreographers Kyle Abraham, Micaela Taylor, Maleek Washington, Imre Van Opstal, and Tamisha Guy.

Presently, Nico is training at the Grand Academy of Ballet in Encino, CA. She is signed with Go2Talent and has brought ballet to the commercial stage, performing in music videos by Emmy Meli, Iann Dior, and Rich Brian. She is looking forward to continuing her personal professional goals and sharing her love for ballet with the students in Muse Dance Academy, a private coaching program that offers classical ballet training to BIPOC and low income dancers.
